Dr. Flavia Amadeu is PhD in Design and Sustainability from the London College of Fashion, Master in Art & Technology and BA in Industrial Design.
Flavia Amadeu's experience is also in the academy in the areas of Fashion and Design and in the design business. Someone who has developed her entrepreneurial skills since her early years of university and became a social entrepreneur from her research and work with local wild rubber producers in the Amazon rainforest.
She is a designer with background in Industrial Design, Fashion and Jewellery. I have researched and worked with wild rubber since 2004 when I began my MA in Art and Technology, being part of the team who developed the coloured rubber at the Chemistry department from the University of Brasilia (Lateq IQ/UnB). She went deep in the thematic of social innovation during her PhD at the London College of Fashion, with a focus on the interaction of designers with local producers and artisans, in which the social innovation of the Amazonian wild rubber became her primary case study and example.She has been an MA Supervisor in the MA of Design Management at the London College of Fashion (2014 and 2015), a teacher at the Design Course of University of Brasília (UnB) and of the Fashion Design courses at IESB and Unieuro Colleges in Brasilia. Currently, Flavia Amadeu offers lectures and workshops for educational establishments, companies and academic events.
